LOTM Season 3.5

Your guide to LOTM’s first transitional season as a Faraway game

Under Yuga Labs, Legends of the Mara ran for 3 seasons. Now, with Faraway's recent acquisition of the LOTM collections and gaming IP, we will be relaunching Legends of the Mara with the goal of building it out more closely to its original vision.

This process will begin with a transitional season (Season 3.5) during which we plan to introduce new features and make some changes to the game.

LOTM Points

The first major change is the introduction of LOTM Points, which are awarded to Kodamara, Koda, and Mara. You can learn all about LOTM Points (Base Points, Extra Points, Point Modifiers, and more) in our guide here.

Essentially, Kodamara, Koda, and Mara receive a certain amount of Base Points or Extra Points (or both) depending on varying factors like metadata, leaderboard position and more. Extra Points and Point Modifiers can be unlocked in games and experiences in the Faraway ecosystem.

Sediment Restock

At the start of Season 3.5, Sediment will be reset in all environments to a reduced number from the Season 3 caps.

Farming rates will also be decreased from their previous rates per NFT.

Rewards Changes

Rewards in Season 3.5 will consist of LOTM Points, Point Modifiers and Myst. These are earned from chests and from leaderboards.

Upcoming Game Design Changes

While not included in Season 3.5, there are many game design improvements and new mechanics on our roadmap for the game. More information will be shared about these changes in the future, but here are some things that we’re working on:

  • Shattered fight back

  • Added tactical depth

  • New abilities

  • Boss phases

  • HV-MTLs join the fight

  • Farming Myst

  • New Shattered types

  • And many more future features

And here’s a sneak peek at some new Shattered types to hold you over until our next update 👀
